Forté was founded on the principles of quality and integrity in 2013 by Ryan Huseman, P.E. in Amarillo, TX. We exist to provide quality, responsive, and valuable Structural Engineering solutions for our clients. We are well versed in a variety of project types, including educational, religious, medical, retail, industrial, aviation, parking garages, and specialty structures. We provide a variety of services to meet the unique needs of each of our clients. Our services include structural design for new construction and renovations, BIM modeling, construction support, evaluations of existing structures, and peer reviews. We are licensed in Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Colorado, and New Mexico.

Principal Structural Engineer

Ryan Huseman, P.E.

Ryan has over 25 years of engineering experience covering a wide range of projects and clients. He is the Founder and Principal of Forté Structural Engineering, located in Amarillo, TX. Ryan is licensed as a Structural Engineer in Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Colorado, and Kansas. Ryan’s experience includes design of steel, aluminum, concrete, masonry and timber structures, including multi-story building projects with construction budgets of up to $80 million. But more importantly, Ryan has been married to his wife Heather for over 25 years. Ryan & Heather enjoy growing in their marriage covenant, spending time with friends and family, and keeping up with their 11 children and their many endeavors.

Vanessa Brown
Structural Engineer - Design Lead

Vanessa Brown, P.E.

Vanessa earned a B.S. in Civil Engineering from West Texas A&M University in 2014 and a M.Eng. in Structural Engineering from Texas A&M University in 2015. While at West Texas A&M University, Vanessa was a scholarship athlete on the university’s golf team. After graduating from Texas A&M, Vanessa worked as Structural Engineer for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Philadelphia, PA, until joining Forté in August of 2017. Vanessa is a gifted Structural Engineer who is making invaluable contributions to our clients and their projects. In her free time, Vanessa enjoys spending time with her husband, Zane. They can often be found playing golf, working on their project truck, or serving their community.

Wesley Huseman, P.E.

Wesley joined Forté Structural Engineering in May of 2025. He earned a B.S. in Civil Engineering and an M.S. in Structural Engineering from Lehigh University is 2013 and 2014, respectively. Wesley brings an impressive resume of design and project knowledge to Forté, including a wealth of experience in education and retail projects. When not at work, Wesley enjoys spending time with his wife, Murphy, and 3 children and raising quail.

Tierra joined Forté Structural Engineering in 2022, having graduated with degrees from both Texas Tech University (B.S., Architecture, 2018) and West Texas A&M University (B.S., Civil Engineering, 2021). Her prior work in construction project management and her attention to detail make her a perfect fit for our team. She continues to impress with her design and analysis abilities and provides essential contributions for our clients’ projects. Tierra and her husband, Orlando, enjoy spending time with family and raising their two boys.

Reece Huseman

Reece has been contributing to our operations for many years, but joined our staff on a full time basis in 2020 to model our building structures and contribute to our project production. He performs BIM modeling on nearly every project we design. He has a knack for 3D visualization and has become a Revit expert. Reece's IT skills are invaluable around the office. When not at work, Reece enjoys spending time with his wife Emma, and making mead.

Becky Buttel

Becky is the glue that holds everything together at Forté. She has many years of experience in
bookkeeping, tax preparation, and business management. She’s responsible for
managing the books, invoicing, project coordination activities, and other tasks to keep the
business running smoothly. Becky has been married to her husband, David, for over
30 years and successfully homeschooled her two children, Nathaniel and Natalie.
Federal Program Manager

R. Thomas “Tom” Bright

Tom graduated from Virginia Military Institute (VMI) in 1979 with B.S. in Civil Engineering before serving 27 years in the United States Marine Corps. Tom’s service in the Marine Corps took him overseas during multiple engagements in Iraq and Afghanistan before retiring as a Colonel in 2005. Tom then continued his service as an overseas contractor where he returned to Iraq and Afghanistan to complete 15 construction projects as a Senior Project Manager for ECC. Tom and his wife Katie are currently enjoying life gardening, wildlife watching and serving their community in Canyon, TX.
